After the R.O.M, I'm going to gather all of my father's books and work thru them. Must try my best not to sneak into the library to get my hands on a Stephanie Plum tho. Bah, I'll probably do just that anyway. Who am I kidding? I'm hooked and I know it.

It's only 3.33 pm now. Ladidadidaa. Eh, that's half-evil, considering 666 supposedly has to do with the devil! Haha. Mmm. 666 the wrong side up wld be 999, which's our police hotline. The police force has got to do with God?!

Revelation for today: Our police force is of divinity.

I'm so bored, I wanna hurl Tack against the screen to see if he cries.

Dirty old river, must you keep rolling
Flowing into the night
People so busy, makes me feel dizzy
Taxi light shines so bright
But I dont need no friends
As long as I gaze on waterloo sunset
I am in paradise

Every day I look at the world from my window
Chilly, chilly is the evening time
Waterloo sunset's fine

Terry meets Julie, waterloo station
Every friday night
But I am so lazy, dont want to wander
I stay at home at night
But I dont feel afraid
As long as I gaze on waterloo sunset
I am in paradise

Every day I look at the world from my window
But chilly, chilly is the evening time
Waterloo sunset's fine

Millions of people swarming like flies round waterloo underground
But Terry and Julie cross over the river
Where they feel safe and sound
And they don't need no friends
As long as they gaze on waterloo sunset
They are in paradise

Waterloo sunset's fine

The fragility of it all scares me senseless.

Senseless.

I was trying my best to flag a cab down this morning when due to my superb luck, I caught sight of this guy wanking for all the world to see. He was walking across a patch of grass that's right in front of the main road, teeny dick (cos I cldn't see his birdie in between the short, furious jerks) out of his berms, windbreaker flapping gently in the wind. I was initially thinking it's odd that he's not wearing a t-shirt under his windbreaker, before I noticed his engagement in his... activity.

Weird thing is, I wasn't even shocked. Disgusted, yes, especially since he was looking at me, but all I experienced was mild surprise, which I dealt with by rolling my eyes up to the heavens, and concentrating on my taxi-grabbing.

Aaanyways. It's the weekend again. My tasks wld be to finalise the cake (decided to ask my sister to bake it, and she's says she will!), scout for mine and Jay's footwear, get some make-up to experiment with (I'm doing my own make-up cos honestly, I do not want to look like I'm gonna perform on stage. children will burst into tears if I go near them), and possibly, purchase new undergarments. I need new jeans on account of my weight loss (slight, but am still losing kgs) but I shall get some next month, probably. So much to pay for this October! Bleurgh.

Dinner with Renee, Sunday night! She's only here for a week before heading back to New Zealand. She wants yummy local food, so I need to ask you guys this; where wld you go if your tongue has died eating fish and chips and lamb chops and you wanna shock it back to life?

I wanna take up philosophy! Not to go into a related career, but just, to feed my thoughts. Doing some reading up on my own has led me to realise that all those philosophical theories are quite complex, but very very interesting. Pretty understandable, once you really jump your mind into them. But then again, who am I to say? I'm only scratching the smallest part of the surface with wikipedia. WAHAHA.

Aren't we a very curious and inventive lot? From being cave ppl, we've come a tremendously long way. Billions and gazillions of theories, proven facts, tools, formulae, laws, productions, etc, etc, etc. And the world isn't even destroyed yet, so there's time for more. Exciting in a scary way, isn't it?

Oooooorgh. I am sooo sick of being the nice guy. Keeping the majority of my negative views to myself and voicing only the positives have been getting to me the past couple of years. Sure, it makes me more sweet-natured, non-judgemental and therefore, probably more likable. But honestly, who cares?

I don't judge ppl much mainly due to the fact that I don't bother doing it and being achingly far from perfect myself, it's not my place to judge, but god, some ppl are just itching to be bitched about. And to be cautious around. How can one not form a bad opinion of them or part of their character when it's in your face? Irritants.

Irritants!

Well ok, some aren't irritants. Good ppl with nauseating habits. Not physically nauseating, but mentally.. or emotionally? You get the idea. A couple of the better bunch are my closer friends, which makes it harder to be wholly honest to them, and that sucks.

So, I'm done keeping mum. Done being accepting, tolerant and so very understanding. Cos really, sometimes I don't get which retarded devil possesses them. And when that devil gets hold of ppl I love, it's nvr good for anyone. Just gets sucky and suckier, stopping right before suckiest cos that's when enlightenment gets magically attained.

Sucks that I do the I-don't-care bit very well, but often get bitten in the ass of my conscience.

Next time you're gonna do something stupid, I'm gonna let you know exactly what that'll make you. No way I'm gonna just nod and turn arnd. I'm gonna stay and try wake you up.

I didn't fall in love with the first gown I saw, but I did feel my heart do a happy little dance when I stepped into the second.

It. Is. Beautiful. *sighs*

... OMG. I HAVE A GOWN!!!

My gown my gown my gown my gown my gown my gown my gown my gown my gown my gown my gown my gown my gown my gown my gown my gown my gown my gown my gown my gown my gown my gown my gown my gown my gown my gown my gown my gown my gown!!!!

You do NOT know how happy I am! We didn't even have to search for long, y'know? Jay and I were on our way to Far East when we passed by this bridal store near Arab St. So we did a u-turn and decided to give it a try since we had to start our hunt somewhere. An hour (or less?) later, he's paying the deposit for a suit and gown. :-D

I absolutely cannot wait to see my gown again. It's thick, off-white satin, full-skirted with embroidered lace. Oh oh, the button-up is studded with pearls, just like a classic wedding dress. While Jay was trying on his suit, I was holding my gown to my body, swaying and watching the dreamy-eyed girl in the mirror. I felt bliss, and that's when I knew I had to get it. I didn't care that I'd not seen enough gowns to sensibly decide, cos that gown was properly and obviously mine.

Ofcos, the fact that it's of an extremely reasonable price was a deciding factor. :-D

Oh! I suppose I shld talk abt Jay's suit. I know noone gives a flying bat's tail abt how the groom looks (unless you're his gay best friend), but being his wife-to-be, I shld give him importance, which means I MUST let you know of his fashion choices for our R.O.M. Off-white coat and pants to match. We've to get him a good cotton shirt in pure white, and light brown shoes (shiny, and I mean it, Mister!!)

Next up, invites. They're gonna be adorable and quite unique. Very personal too, cos they'll all be done by the both of us. You can now look forward to receiving them!

On an entirely different note, I'm gonna see Russell Peters live!! Like Sindhu said earlier, November '08 seems to be a pretty good month. :-D

Alright I know my Bali post isn't up yet, so I have no business blogging unless I have an explanation. My explanation is, I can only access the net at the office cos my sister's connection is down! And I'm sure we all know that skiving is not good; therefore, I can't possibly blog at work.

What a hypocrite. I'm at work now!

If you're on my Facebook, see the album titled 'Bali!'. If you're not on my Facebook, add me! I'd love to make new friends.

Mmm. That probably applies to absolutely no reader of mine. I think all my visitors are ppl I know, since my hits are only so-so and navigational tracking records are tremendously boring. I kiiiinda miss those weirdo-attacks way back in like... 2005 or 6. WHOA. I've been blogging since Dec 2003. That makes it almost 5 yrs! Got to celebrate. Maybe I'll get me a cupcake and stick a candle in it. Maybe get a new blog skin too. And a bikini.

I've a busy weekend ahead. Gown search with twinnie tmr! If you have any places to suggest, PLEASE let me know soon before I fall in love with the first decent gown I see!

BACK!!!!!!!!!

I have so much to tell, and so many pictures to show you. Let me be done editing them, and you'll have a visual feast cos Bali is so so gorgeous. Here's a peak.

One of my favourite snaps.

Goofing at the hotel bar.

Hard Rock!

I'm gonna see Jay now, so toooooodles!

Have you been to Bali? If you've not, I've this to say to you: HA!

And if you have: Are manicures and pedicures good there?

I'll be off coming Thursday morning, and'll be back few hours into Monday. Needless to say, I. AM. SO. EXCITED! Oh, what makes it even more exciting is the fact that it's an all-expenses-paid-by-the-company trip. Well, all expenses except for dinner on the 14th, which I don't get. No need to pay for absolutely every other meal and tour and hike, but we're on our own for one dinner. Might as well take care of that too, right? I'm not complaining, cos it's just a meal, but it sure doesn't make much sense.

Sidenote to self: I need drawstring pants that fit my momma of an ass.

We're gonna get the boss drunk and watch him dance! I hope I don't get forced to dance with him like this colleague of mine was last yr. I'm very obviously the least outdoor-ish person in the company, which makes me an easy (and entertaining) target for bullying. Bleaurgh.

Sidenote to self: Must get a bottle of SPF15 Olay Total Effects.

My brother-in-law asked me that day, mid-convo, "Eh how come your face so dark?"

=(

Does working near the sea affect one's complexion? Maybe it's time I found another job. One that'll keep me shaded from the sun and away from sea air, allowing me to look pale and sunken under fluorescent lights.

Don't get me wrong; black is beautiful, like white and brown are. My personal preference for myself is a lighter shade of brown cos I think that's what suits me best. But come to think of it, it's not that important anyway. Healthy skin's good enough.

Sidenote to self: I can pick up my good friend Al Cohol when I return next Monday! He'll be in a good mood, cos he'll be free from duty! *nudges and winks*

Hey, does anyone know a place in Singapore that sells or rents out vintage gowns?

Grrr.

Just my luck, getting sick on a weekend. Thursday night was spent sneezing into the wee hours of the morning while helping the folks pack up. My right eyeball's surface got bumpy again, so after trying my best to smooth it back down with my finger, I gave up, squeezed a few drops of eye disinfectant, and snoozed for 2 lousy hours before getting up to get ready to go to the airport. And damn, I looked like COMPLETE SHIT!

Jay and I were ordering coffee for the family at the Wang cafe, right next to Coffeebean. My nose decided to bastard me by making me sneeze out a very ewwy line of mucus, which Jay caught full sight of. I was wiping off the goo and trying to hold the rest in when he told me; "You look divine."

Lousy sarcastic backside.

But I love this lousy backide lots. Cos he's sooo sooo wonderful! Since I was shittily sick, he picked me up from work and got me porridge for dinner. And he helped my family with the hauling of luggage into taxis and drove my mom, the baby and I to the airport. He's being a good son-in-law BEFORE becoming a son-in-law. Now how cool is that!

I love you!!!!!!

Monday, August 25, 2008

I'm not sure who I'm trying to make happy. Shldn't it be me?

HA. If my mom thought that way, I probably wldn't be alive.

Get off your giant ass and do some good while the ppl you love are still alive, Dhanya!!

Tuesday, August 19, 2008

Anyone looking to rent a room in Pasir Ris? The location's good in many ways, and you'll be living with a family member of mine, so you can rest assured that you'll sleep safe. :-p

Straight bus to the airport if you work there!

Do call me if you're equipped with my number, or mail your enquiries to dhanya19@gmail.com.

Forgot to let you guys know, I'm not going to India!

Long story, so do me a favour and don't ask me why unless you're talking to me in person. In short, there's no need for me to go, so I refused to. Good part is, you guys have me all to yourselves. *winky winks*

Next time I get on a plane will probably be arnd the middle of next yr. Guess where I'm going! Guess guess guess guess guess guess guess guess guess!

Australia!!

Like finally! Seems to me everyone's been there a million times by now. Since I'm a procastinator(and an often broke one) by nature, makes sense for me to make my virgin trip later than most ppl, I guess.

It's gonna be a girlie getaway cos...

...Sindhu's in! Which of you lovely LADIES wanna come with?

Saturday, August 16, 2008

The water in the flask wasn't boiled, so I got it going and went down to try talk to the kitchen help (I hate that they've employed non-english speakers. chinese nationals! language barriers are not lovely like in Love Actually. they are exasperating, especially at work). After an eternity spent doing hand gestures and mentally banging my head against the wall, I came up to see that the water was still boiling. So I threw some coffee powder into my mug and went down again to see if there was anyone arnd to give me a ride out. I found noone, so I came up to the office, decided I needed to pee, locked up and skipped to the toilet, did what I had to, and got back to the office. I set the photocopier in mass-printing mode, sat myself down, and started filling out some order forms. Few minutes later, realising that I haven't had my coffee yet, I grunted and stepped out to the pantry, only to find that my mug was missing, coffee powder and all! I was wondering who'd wanna steal my mug, and got back into the office, filled with puzzlement. I sat myself down again, and plain in sight, was my big, comfy mug.

I now genuinely wonder, how the heck did my mug get to my table, with hot coffee in it too?

There are so many things in my mind (besides work. work's the smallest of my worries), I'm getting scatter-brained. Oh. Correction: even more scatter-brained! Kinda interesting tho, leaving little mysteries for myself to solve. Ha.

Isn't it weird how it sails smooth for a while, and with no warning (actually, sometimes, with warning), the boat develops holes in the bottom and you get into a state getting the water off it while attempting to seal the holes? Ok, I'm talking bullshit here cos I know nuts about boats. I find comfort in coming up with analogies and metaphors when in confusion or disappointment or frustration or mild despair. And in happiness too! Jay shld know.

My manager ate my prata. =(

I was so kind to him this morning; I shared my pasta with him! And that's not just because he gave me a ride to work. I was genuinely feeling generous, as usual. And he repaid my food-kindness by gobbling up the one prata I ordered. =( Oh well. Guess I'll see if I look fantastic in my dress at the registration, and give him silent thanks if I do.

My mom's waiting for me at Simei. Toodles!

P.S: In that pic, do you see a small transparent container with pieces of tissue and a stone on it? Between the bottle of lotion and the Tigger stationery holder? That's where Tack rests when I go home for the day. He's now sleeping in late on account of it being a Saturday. =)

Company dinner!

We had our meal at Sakae Sushi(fun, yeah. but the food wasn't the best I've had), and durians(my love!) for dessert at geylang, main road of lorong 13 or 14. There was this prostitute in her late 20s across the road who was standing there for the longest period of time, waiting for business while trying to appear like she's casually waiting for her ride to town. The main and re-occuring joke during our stay there was that one of us really should help her by either getting her across the busy road if that's what she's standing there for, or drive by in our van and give her a lift. Oh oh oh, we were discussing the possibilities of organising night walks/hikes at geylang's red light areas as one of our company's offered choices of 'experiential learning-inducing' outdoor activities. Half an hour later, we saw a group of late teens dressed in shorts and big tees, walking in single file. They were obviously a big, organised team, and so we all got disappointed that someone else thought it up and got it done before we cld.

Wow. My writing's unusually bland today. Or maybe extra bland, cos I think I write blandly anyway. See? I've used the word 'bland' 4 times so far, and that's in just 2 lines.

I'm sleepy.

Nights & toodles.

I have a friend at work. A malleable, almost androgynous friend. Wanna meet him?

Say hello to........ Tack!!

Sweet isn't he? That's his happy smile.

Tack watches me work. That's his favourite activity. When I nod off while doing one of the few mundane tasks that're part of my duties, he squeals just loud enough for me to hear. Also, he discreetly snarls at ppl who try to push their work to me, which encourages me to tell to them to go wank somewhere. Such a darling, yes?

He's been complaining abt his looks (I think he's always looked stunning. But there's no convincing him. Sigh.) so I decided to give him a makeover. After much careful thought and processes, here's the end product;

He loves the tiara-like thing I did for him!

Side view!

He's happy with his new look, and has decided to name himself Shiny Bluetack. Tacky name, but I'm glad he loves my work! Let me know what you think!

And I love you, Tack!

Kill me.

My previous post was superbly bimbotic. I did it in the mrt mainly to fight the discomfort I felt while being stared at by a group of Yindian indians, and a lone caucasian. So, do excuse me.

It's such a lazy lazy Sunday. Good thing I suggested going to the airport for dinner to my mom, else I'd probably be reduced to a big, brown gooey glob on the sofa by 7pm.

Oh, I was supposed to club last night but didn't. No ladies were free besides Sindhu, Suchita and I, so we decided not to go ahead with our plans. BUT, at 12midnight, I got a text msg from Suchita asking if I'm still free to do a ladies' night. Just 15 minutes after I got home from dinner with Venga. 15 puny minutes! My mom would've made a huge fuss if I'd sneaked out, and she'd be sending me nasty looks from today to Tuesday.

I've been feeling extremely sociable lately, for some weird reason. Like, I wouldn't mind having dinner with friends I'm not very well acquainted with, even it's just 1 person, which will be a potentially unsuccessful dinner date, in case I don't have much to say to her/him and vice versa. All the same, I'm sure I'll just talk my ass off and force out a topic of shared interest. Must check my horoscope; I bet there's something about my current tendency towards being a persistent pain in the ass. I also bet that if I were a business woman, I would have managed to secure a damn huge deal by now.

I'm kinda free next week, besides Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday. Anyone free for dinner?

Saturday, July 26, 2008

Wanna see my new shoes? They're a steal at $15, from Bata. Bata! Who'd have thought they sell cute stuff right?
