My sister's called Jay and I over to her place for some of her much-loved (by me!) african chicken stew. *floats at the thought of thick, nutty gravy* Sure hope it's still on though. She just called to say that she MIGHT be going to the doctor's in the evening cos her eyelid's giving her problems, again. Don't know what's with us sisters and eye problems. Mine's my right (sometimes itchy and bumpy) eyeball, and her's her right (sometimes swelling) eyelid. Both conditions aren't pretty.

My third sister's lips get swollen once every few years, which is when I always have a complete blast imitating and irritating her. The first sister used to have problems with her nose, but after surgery, it's been fine so far, except her nose now slightly but quite obviously slants to the left...or right. Oh oh, the second sister, the one with the unfortunate eyelid, had to have a nose operation done too, but instead of slanting to some direction, her nose's just gotten bigger. Poor thing. There is no way I'm putting myself through nasal surgery unless my life reeeeaally depends on it.

I want african chicken stew!

P.S: I'm in love with this image of us, tho it's of bad quality!
P.P.S: I'm in heels. :-p

The 23rd is day after tomorrow. I'm psyched. :-D

I need to get something off my chest, sweetie pie.

You must already know that I'm nervous about getting married. I'm sure all those questions like, "Aren't you scared? No? Really?" must be big clues pointing to my state of mind. But I bet you're not entirely sure of my thoughts and it's not your style to ask (cos you assume :-p). So I'll explain.

The thing is, I'm not ready. Honestly. There are quite a number of important parts of my life that are questions without solid answers and you know what they are. What if they don't work out? Would you still be happily married to me? What will your relatives and friends think? My excuse for my current state of affairs, that I'm still young, won't hold for long. For your sake, possibly more than for mine, I hope I make it.

Look in the dictionary and you'll see my face under 'slacker'. I'm a poly dropout and have gotten nowhere above that for what, 5 years? Takes alot of thickness of skin and a genuine slacker's attitude to get thru that in Singapore. Yeah, the financial shit had a part to play, but I could have been more perseverant in trying to get out of it. Now I know you wouldn't be caught dead in a situation like that, cos you're so...different. You're better at this surviving-in-this-world thing. More active, careful, sensible; more adult. Which makes me wonder how you ended up with me, really. My decisions will always affect yours. Even more now since we'll be married in 12 days (according to Sashi's blog's countdown).

What I want to know is, when opposites attract, do they attract forever? Will the differences in opinion eventually drive us apart? Do we truly compliment each other? We're good now, but who knows what sorta problems we'll have thrown at us, man. Maybe we'll fight about who's way to go about doing it. You're as stubborn as I am when you want to be. Too bad I can't pussy-whip you. Don't think I'll want to anyways. :-X

I'm only 22 this year. Though that's not an obscenely young age to get married at, I still have quite a bit of growing up to do. I very readily admit to not being the most mature 22-yr-old I know. But I do sometimes make a conscious effort to be more sensible. So... I just hope you fully understand what you're getting yourself into. I know what I'm getting myself into, tho I can't say that I'm entirely prepared to be part of another family while I'm still grappling with my own. Haha. It helps that I like your family tho. Such a bunch of niiiice weirdoes. I'm very very thankful that they like me back. =)

Soooo. Now you know for sure. I'm worried. Not worried shitless; just a bit worried. But then again, marriage is a gamble, isn't it? I'm hoping and hoping that you and I will be together till the end of our days.

Thank you for having as much trust in me as you do, Jay. I want to marry you now even though I'm not ready. I don't want to wait. Don't know how long I'll take. You're the one I'll be marrying anyways. Even though I might often need some time alone, I want to be closer to you.

Please remain patient with me and love me always.

Russell Peters was HILARIOUS SHIT! Funny, funny, funny! I cannot tell you how fully glad I am that we managed to get tickets. I can honestly say that we got our money's worth, tho I suppose that's quite hard to gauge, considering the product type.

Hope 13-yr-old Shazim had as much fun as we all did. Poor guy. Wahaha.

18 more days till I'm Mrs. Jijay Kumar. =)

I squeezed myself into the train to get to work last Saturday, and realised that to my right, there was this guy who looked a WHOLE lot like a secondary school classmate of mine whom I've not seen for years. I stared at his profile for a few seconds to make sure it was him, and decided I felt friendly enough to say hi.

Me : Hi Yi Yong.
Him : *looks like something's been suddenly shoved up his ass and starts shifting around really uncomfortably, avoiding eye contact*
Me : *taps his arm gently and smiles sunshinily* Yi Yong?
Him : *turns face slightly to me and cups his ears, shaking his head*
Me : Oops. Sorry, thought you were my friend.

I turned up my player's volume and squeezed my eyes shut for a pretty long time.

Lesson learnt: When it comes to recognising ppl, side profiles are NOT trustable. If doubt arises, just shut up.

And why did it have to be a deaf-mute?! Or maybe my friendliness made him so nervous, he decided put on a show. If he did, I hope his ears ring non-stop for 2 days, and that he will struggle to hear what his friends tell him, and they'll get irritated, and he'll get slapped. In fact, I wish that his ears will ring till he's slapped enough to get the sound out of his head.

Oh well.

Deepavali was quite alright. Didn't do much, really. And omg, I didn't even drink! What's wrong with me!?!?!

Did manage to camwhore a teeny bit before stripping my saree off me, tho.

I love sarees, and I love wearing them even more! *prances around*

I should be doing working now.

I kinda miss my old blogskin, the one with the huge-assed pic of my eye for the background. Rmbr? Here, lemme help.

Got this off a wordpress blog I left a comment on. It's so weird that a snapshot of my blog's appearance of like, months ago popped up instead of its current image. It's probably the cybergod's way of letting me know that it's time to change my skin since my blog scares off kids cos of my gigantic face scrutinising them. And due to the wholesomeness that is my online journal, I feel a sense of duty to the general public to make sure that in all ways, my blog is good for you.

Omg I just spotted the 'Third-base' in that screen shot. What's that all about?! So un-wholesome. And I don't even use the term TGIF. Mmm. Strange. Maybe those aren't labels or related words or whatever I thought they were.

I smell black coffee. It's making my brain tingle.

Oh! As I was saying. I'm gonna change my blogskin. Sometime soon, I hope. Sucks not having a comp at home now. Don't wanna use my sister's laptop cos if anything happens to it, I'll be blamed for sure. Know why? My whole family knows nuts about computers and the like, and I'm the family expert. Boggles the wobbly mind, doesn't it! My knowledge in this case is limited mainly to net usage and a wee bit of html codings. That's all. Oh, and Solitaire. But really, I'm a semi-computer idiot. Rmbr way back when I complained relentlessly that my sound card wasn't working? Or wasn't even in existence in my CPU? It probably dawned on Jay that I wldn't know where a sound card wld be even if it personally told me to where to stuff it (does that sound un-wholesome too?) and inserted his earphones into the sound-coming-out-jack-thing. We heard the song blasting, and we both realised that I'm an idiot.

Now you must be wondering why I'll seem to be at fault if the lappy goes mad, since I'm supposed to be the expert. You see, ignorance breeds ignorance, so when they use a comp, they're not aware of undesirable moves that might have been carried out during their session, and since they aren't aware, they think their hands are clean, and when the machine acts up, they assume I've laptop blood on my hands!

My beige, squeaky clean hands!! *chest heaves dramatically*

Yah, so I'm not using that thing. I'll stick to abusing the comp at work till I buy myself a neon-green laptop next year.

I probably should get back to work.

The office idiot calls me D-Nadhan! You can ask me why, but I won't know what to say. Ask her!!!

After note: It's D-Nadhen. Nadhen with an 'e'.

My twinnie's got clever fingers.

Oh yes she does!

And I have a freakishly long neck!

Got sick of smiling, so decided to appear a little fed up.

If you like the earrings (the 'if' is probably redundant), head over to http://alkaen-moon.blogspot.com. She's so nice, she'll custom-make stuff for you. Never know, you might even inspire a pair and get them named after yourself. Get her to do you earrings today! Is it possible for me to sound cheesier?

Speaking of doing things. Have you done my bridal footwear poll? What, no? Why not?! Do it now! It's just below this post. You're too lazy to scroll down? Fine. Click here.

Why you so lazy?!

I guess I deserve the Dunia votes I got, since I voted Dunia anyway. Wahaha.

Eh if you honestly don't know what my name is, I suggest you get the hell away from me cos I'm gonna hunt you down and give your ass a flying kick! Well ok... not really. I don't hurt stupid ppl.

The party favours have been decided on! They're gonna be half-made by us. :-D I'm not telling you what they are even if you ask me. Cos you're probably gonna be a guest. And the guests don't get to know in advance what they're receiving even if they really, reeeeaaally want to.

I shld stop doing so much wayang.

DO THIS!!!

He's got the kinda face that'll appeal to despo housewives. Feel lonely? You know what to do. ;)

P.S: Answer to poll question will be revealed in next blogpost! :-p

After the R.O.M, I'm going to gather all of my father's books and work thru them. Must try my best not to sneak into the library to get my hands on a Stephanie Plum tho. Bah, I'll probably do just that anyway. Who am I kidding? I'm hooked and I know it.

It's only 3.33 pm now. Ladidadidaa. Eh, that's half-evil, considering 666 supposedly has to do with the devil! Haha. Mmm. 666 the wrong side up wld be 999, which's our police hotline. The police force has got to do with God?!

Revelation for today: Our police force is of divinity.

I'm so bored, I wanna hurl Tack against the screen to see if he cries.

Dirty old river, must you keep rolling
Flowing into the night
People so busy, makes me feel dizzy
Taxi light shines so bright
But I dont need no friends
As long as I gaze on waterloo sunset
I am in paradise

Every day I look at the world from my window
Chilly, chilly is the evening time
Waterloo sunset's fine

Terry meets Julie, waterloo station
Every friday night
But I am so lazy, dont want to wander
I stay at home at night
But I dont feel afraid
As long as I gaze on waterloo sunset
I am in paradise

Every day I look at the world from my window
But chilly, chilly is the evening time
Waterloo sunset's fine

Millions of people swarming like flies round waterloo underground
But Terry and Julie cross over the river
Where they feel safe and sound
And they don't need no friends
As long as they gaze on waterloo sunset
They are in paradise

Waterloo sunset's fine

The fragility of it all scares me senseless.

Senseless.

I was trying my best to flag a cab down this morning when due to my superb luck, I caught sight of this guy wanking for all the world to see. He was walking across a patch of grass that's right in front of the main road, teeny dick (cos I cldn't see his birdie in between the short, furious jerks) out of his berms, windbreaker flapping gently in the wind. I was initially thinking it's odd that he's not wearing a t-shirt under his windbreaker, before I noticed his engagement in his... activity.

Weird thing is, I wasn't even shocked. Disgusted, yes, especially since he was looking at me, but all I experienced was mild surprise, which I dealt with by rolling my eyes up to the heavens, and concentrating on my taxi-grabbing.

Aaanyways. It's the weekend again. My tasks wld be to finalise the cake (decided to ask my sister to bake it, and she's says she will!), scout for mine and Jay's footwear, get some make-up to experiment with (I'm doing my own make-up cos honestly, I do not want to look like I'm gonna perform on stage. children will burst into tears if I go near them), and possibly, purchase new undergarments. I need new jeans on account of my weight loss (slight, but am still losing kgs) but I shall get some next month, probably. So much to pay for this October! Bleurgh.

Dinner with Renee, Sunday night! She's only here for a week before heading back to New Zealand. She wants yummy local food, so I need to ask you guys this; where wld you go if your tongue has died eating fish and chips and lamb chops and you wanna shock it back to life?

I wanna take up philosophy! Not to go into a related career, but just, to feed my thoughts. Doing some reading up on my own has led me to realise that all those philosophical theories are quite complex, but very very interesting. Pretty understandable, once you really jump your mind into them. But then again, who am I to say? I'm only scratching the smallest part of the surface with wikipedia. WAHAHA.

Aren't we a very curious and inventive lot? From being cave ppl, we've come a tremendously long way. Billions and gazillions of theories, proven facts, tools, formulae, laws, productions, etc, etc, etc. And the world isn't even destroyed yet, so there's time for more. Exciting in a scary way, isn't it?

Tuesday, September 23, 2008

Oooooorgh. I am sooo sick of being the nice guy. Keeping the majority of my negative views to myself and voicing only the positives have been getting to me the past couple of years. Sure, it makes me more sweet-natured, non-judgemental and therefore, probably more likable. But honestly, who cares?

I don't judge ppl much mainly due to the fact that I don't bother doing it and being achingly far from perfect myself, it's not my place to judge, but god, some ppl are just itching to be bitched about. And to be cautious around. How can one not form a bad opinion of them or part of their character when it's in your face? Irritants.

Irritants!

Well ok, some aren't irritants. Good ppl with nauseating habits. Not physically nauseating, but mentally.. or emotionally? You get the idea. A couple of the better bunch are my closer friends, which makes it harder to be wholly honest to them, and that sucks.

So, I'm done keeping mum. Done being accepting, tolerant and so very understanding. Cos really, sometimes I don't get which retarded devil possesses them. And when that devil gets hold of ppl I love, it's nvr good for anyone. Just gets sucky and suckier, stopping right before suckiest cos that's when enlightenment gets magically attained.

Sucks that I do the I-don't-care bit very well, but often get bitten in the ass of my conscience.

Next time you're gonna do something stupid, I'm gonna let you know exactly what that'll make you. No way I'm gonna just nod and turn arnd. I'm gonna stay and try wake you up.

I didn't fall in love with the first gown I saw, but I did feel my heart do a happy little dance when I stepped into the second.

It. Is. Beautiful. *sighs*

... OMG. I HAVE A GOWN!!!

My gown my gown my gown my gown my gown my gown my gown my gown my gown my gown my gown my gown my gown my gown my gown my gown my gown my gown my gown my gown my gown my gown my gown my gown my gown my gown my gown my gown my gown!!!!

You do NOT know how happy I am! We didn't even have to search for long, y'know? Jay and I were on our way to Far East when we passed by this bridal store near Arab St. So we did a u-turn and decided to give it a try since we had to start our hunt somewhere. An hour (or less?) later, he's paying the deposit for a suit and gown. :-D

I absolutely cannot wait to see my gown again. It's thick, off-white satin, full-skirted with embroidered lace. Oh oh, the button-up is studded with pearls, just like a classic wedding dress. While Jay was trying on his suit, I was holding my gown to my body, swaying and watching the dreamy-eyed girl in the mirror. I felt bliss, and that's when I knew I had to get it. I didn't care that I'd not seen enough gowns to sensibly decide, cos that gown was properly and obviously mine.

Ofcos, the fact that it's of an extremely reasonable price was a deciding factor. :-D

Oh! I suppose I shld talk abt Jay's suit. I know noone gives a flying bat's tail abt how the groom looks (unless you're his gay best friend), but being his wife-to-be, I shld give him importance, which means I MUST let you know of his fashion choices for our R.O.M. Off-white coat and pants to match. We've to get him a good cotton shirt in pure white, and light brown shoes (shiny, and I mean it, Mister!!)

Next up, invites. They're gonna be adorable and quite unique. Very personal too, cos they'll all be done by the both of us. You can now look forward to receiving them!

On an entirely different note, I'm gonna see Russell Peters live!! Like Sindhu said earlier, November '08 seems to be a pretty good month. :-D

Friday, September 19, 2008

Alright I know my Bali post isn't up yet, so I have no business blogging unless I have an explanation. My explanation is, I can only access the net at the office cos my sister's connection is down! And I'm sure we all know that skiving is not good; therefore, I can't possibly blog at work.

What a hypocrite. I'm at work now!

If you're on my Facebook, see the album titled 'Bali!'. If you're not on my Facebook, add me! I'd love to make new friends.

Mmm. That probably applies to absolutely no reader of mine. I think all my visitors are ppl I know, since my hits are only so-so and navigational tracking records are tremendously boring. I kiiiinda miss those weirdo-attacks way back in like... 2005 or 6. WHOA. I've been blogging since Dec 2003. That makes it almost 5 yrs! Got to celebrate. Maybe I'll get me a cupcake and stick a candle in it. Maybe get a new blog skin too. And a bikini.

I've a busy weekend ahead. Gown search with twinnie tmr! If you have any places to suggest, PLEASE let me know soon before I fall in love with the first decent gown I see!

BACK!!!!!!!!!

I have so much to tell, and so many pictures to show you. Let me be done editing them, and you'll have a visual feast cos Bali is so so gorgeous. Here's a peak.

One of my favourite snaps.

Goofing at the hotel bar.

Hard Rock!

I'm gonna see Jay now, so toooooodles!

Have you been to Bali? If you've not, I've this to say to you: HA!

And if you have: Are manicures and pedicures good there?

I'll be off coming Thursday morning, and'll be back few hours into Monday. Needless to say, I. AM. SO. EXCITED! Oh, what makes it even more exciting is the fact that it's an all-expenses-paid-by-the-company trip. Well, all expenses except for dinner on the 14th, which I don't get. No need to pay for absolutely every other meal and tour and hike, but we're on our own for one dinner. Might as well take care of that too, right? I'm not complaining, cos it's just a meal, but it sure doesn't make much sense.

Sidenote to self: I need drawstring pants that fit my momma of an ass.

We're gonna get the boss drunk and watch him dance! I hope I don't get forced to dance with him like this colleague of mine was last yr. I'm very obviously the least outdoor-ish person in the company, which makes me an easy (and entertaining) target for bullying. Bleaurgh.

Sidenote to self: Must get a bottle of SPF15 Olay Total Effects.

My brother-in-law asked me that day, mid-convo, "Eh how come your face so dark?"

=(

Does working near the sea affect one's complexion? Maybe it's time I found another job. One that'll keep me shaded from the sun and away from sea air, allowing me to look pale and sunken under fluorescent lights.

Don't get me wrong; black is beautiful, like white and brown are. My personal preference for myself is a lighter shade of brown cos I think that's what suits me best. But come to think of it, it's not that important anyway. Healthy skin's good enough.

Sidenote to self: I can pick up my good friend Al Cohol when I return next Monday! He'll be in a good mood, cos he'll be free from duty! *nudges and winks*

Hey, does anyone know a place in Singapore that sells or rents out vintage gowns?
